Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information DNA Artwork collects, how it is used, and how genome processing works. Last Updated 14/05/26

Overview

DNA Artwork is a browser-based creative platform that generates decorative artwork from genome data files provided by users.

This Privacy Policy explains what information DNA Artwork collects, how it is used, and how genome processing works within the platform.

DNA Artwork is designed with a privacy-first approach and aims to minimise the collection and storage of sensitive genetic data.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use DNA Artwork, we may collect account, payment, and usage-related information.

This may include your email address, authentication provider, saved palette settings, collection preferences, purchase history, and basic technical or diagnostic information related to the operation of the service.

DNA Artwork is designed so that raw genome files and parsed genome data are not intentionally imported or stored during normal browser-based processing.

Genome Data and Local Processing

Genome files imported into DNA Artwork are processed locally within your browser on your device.

DNA Artwork does not intentionally upload, store, or retain raw genome files, parsed SNPs, genotypes, chromosome data, or genome-derived seeds during standard artwork generation.

Genome data exists temporarily in browser memory only and is cleared when the page is refreshed, closed, or left.

Artwork only leaves your browser when you explicitly choose to download, save, share, or export it.

Accounts and Authentication

You may create an account using email and password authentication or supported third-party sign-in providers such as Google.

Authentication providers may process personal information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

DNA Artwork may store account-related information required to operate the service, maintain collections, process purchases, and manage user preferences.

Saved Palettes and Collections

DNA Artwork may allow you to save palettes, artwork settings, layout configurations, and collections linked to your account.

These records are designed to store non-genetic creative settings only and do not intentionally contain raw genome files, parsed genome data, rsids, genotypes, chromosome positions, or genome-derived identifiers.

Saved collections are intended to allow you to reapply previous creative settings after re-importing your genome file locally in your browser.

Payments

Payments for digital exports or related services may be processed through third-party payment providers.

DNA Artwork does not store full payment card details.

Payment providers may collect and process payment-related information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Cookies and Analytics

DNA Artwork may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain login sessions, remember preferences, improve performance, and support the operation of the platform.

Limited analytics or diagnostic information may be collected to help improve reliability, performance, and user experience.

DNA Artwork is designed so that genome data is not intentionally shared with analytics providers or advertising platforms during standard browser-based processing.

How We Use Information

Information collected by DNA Artwork may be used to operate the platform, manage accounts, process purchases, maintain collections, improve reliability, prevent abuse, and support customer service.

DNA Artwork does not sell raw genome files or parsed genome data.

Data Retention

Account-related information, saved palettes, purchase records, and related operational data may be retained for as long as necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse.

DNA Artwork is designed so that raw genome files and parsed genome data are not retained during normal browser-based processing.

Deleting Your Account

You may request deletion of your account and associated account data through available account management tools or by contacting [email protected].

Some information may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, financial reporting, legal compliance, or other legitimate operational purposes.

Security

DNA Artwork uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect account and operational information.

However, no online service, software platform, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

DNA Artwork may integrate with or link to third-party services, including authentication providers, payment processors, print providers, analytics platforms, and external websites.

Those services operate independently and may have their own privacy policies, terms, and practices.

DNA Artwork is not responsible for third-party services or their handling of information.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of certain personal information.

Requests relating to privacy or personal information can be sent to [email protected].

Changes to This Policy

DNA Artwork may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
