General
What is DNA Artwork?+
DNA Artwork creates decorative digital artwork from genome data files.
How does it work?+
You import a compatible genome file, choose an artwork style, customise the look, and export the finished image.
Is every artwork unique?+
Yes. The artwork is generated from your genome file, so different genome files can create different visual results.
Privacy and Genome Data
Does my genome file get uploaded?+
No. Genome files are processed locally in your browser on your device.
Do you store my DNA data?+
No. DNA Artwork does not store raw genome files, parsed SNPs, genotypes, chromosome positions, or genome-derived seeds.
What happens if I refresh or close the page?+
Your genome data is cleared from the browser session and you will need to import the file again.
Is this medical or ancestry analysis?+
No. DNA Artwork creates decorative artwork only. It does not provide medical, ancestry, health, ethnicity, trait, disease risk, or genetic interpretation.
Files and Compatibility
Which DNA providers are supported?+
DNA Artwork currently supports 23andMe exports but we're adding more support all the time.
What file types can I import?+
Supported file types depend on the provider, but DNA Artwork is primarily designed for text-based genome export files.
Can I use someone else's genome file?+
You should only use genome files that belong to you or that you have clear permission to use.
Can I use pet DNA files?+
Not yet but we're working on it.
Artwork and Downloads
What is included in the free download?+
The free download provides a lower-resolution version of your artwork and may include DNA Artwork branding or a watermark.
What do paid exports include?+
Paid exports provide a higher-resolution version of your artwork without the free download limitations.
Can I print the artwork?+
Yes. Paid high-resolution exports are intended to be suitable for personal printing and display.
Can I create multiple artworks from the same genome file?+
Yes. You can use different styles, palettes, and settings to create different artwork from the same genome file.
Can I regenerate artwork later?+
Saved collections can store non-genetic style settings, but you will need to import your genome file again to regenerate the artwork.
Accounts
Do I need an account?+
Some features may be available without an account, but an account may be required to save collections, access purchases, or use paid features.
How do I delete my account?+
